Government to resolve residential issues of traders
Islamabad: Mr. Ajmal Baloch, Central Organizing Secretary of Traders Action Committee has visited Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) and congratulated Syed Adil Anis on his designation as Acting President ICCI. Khalid Mehmud Chaudhry, Kamran kaka khel, Sarfraz Haider and Naveed Malik were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Syed Adil Anis, Acting President ICCI said that traders have played important role in developing Islamabad and making it as a model city. On contrary, traders were facing various problems mainly confronting residential issues, he added.
He said that mostly shopkeepers were belonging to adjoin cities and towns and have shifted to Islamabad. He said that house rent were escalating at fast pace which were creating more woe to traders. Mostly traders has used to live in their shops instead of renting a house due to colossal rentals, adding that, if this dilemma would continue, social evils would increase rapidly, he opinioned.
He urged the government to resolve the residential issues faced by trader’s community as their contribution in the development of Islamabad were unforgettable.
Ajmal Baloch, Central Organizing Secretary of Traders Action Committee said that 10 percent of residential quota was allocated for traders in the various sectors of Capital Development Authority (CDA). Later on, this quota has been removed due to certain reasons, Prime Minister of Pakistan should take notice of this issue and reallocate quota for traders in the residential sectors of CDA.
He further said that 16 trading Centres have been completed in Islamabad and substantial vacant place was available around these centres. He said that with the cooperation of CDA, multi-story flats could be constructed and might be sell out to traders irrespective of profit-loss issue. By adopting these ideas, residential issues of traders could be reduced. He requested the CDA authorities to cooperative traders for resolving this issue.
