Government intends to modernize the Postal Services: Parliamentary Secretary Communications

Islamabad, June 30, 2015 (PPI-OT): Parliamentary Secretary Communications Mian Alamdad Lalaika has said that present democratic government intends to modernize the Postal Services and people’s trust in our postal services is a testimony to its state-of-the-art system. Pakistan has a longstanding and rich postal history, and it served as a means of social contact, the Parliamentary Secretary was of the view.

He said “it is the government’s duty to provide the best services to its people”. This was stated the Parliamentary Secretary Communications during an informal meeting with the newly posted Director General Postal Services Faqir Syed Sheheryar-ud-Din, here today. On this occasion, Additional Secretary Communications Aurangzeb Haq, Member National Assembly and Chairman Standing Committee on Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan Malik Abrar were also present.

Mian Alamdad Lalaika further said that the Ministry of Communications intends to ensure quality services to the people through postal services because the people still use postal services as a means of communications. The Parliamentary Secretary assured that issues confronted by the postal services will be solved preferentially. Mian Alamdad also expressed the hope that the newly posted Director General Pakistan Post will use his expertise and experience to enhance the performance and improve the image of Pakistan Post.
