Government doesn’t believe in political victimization but no compromise on accountability: Foreign Minister
Islamabad, December 30, 2020 (PPI-OT):Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi says the government does not believe in political victimization, but Prime Minister Imran Khan will never compromise on the accountability. He was addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Wednesday, along with Minister for Information and Broadcasting Shibli Faraz and Adviser to Prime Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Babar Awan in Islamabad today.
The Foreign Minister said National Accountability Bureau is an independent institution and the government has no influence over it. Shah Mahmood Qureshi said there is accountability in every civilized society, but whenever, the government carries forward the accountability process, the opposition leaders hide behind the allegations of political revenge.
Speaking on this occasion, Adviser on Parliamentary Affairs, Babar Awan rejected the allegations of PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz regarding any injustice with her father Muhammad Nawaz Sharif in the Iqama case. He said Khwaja Asif sent 100 million rupees out of the country in the name of illegal business of rice and brought that money back to the country by legalizing it. Information Minister Shibli Faraz said the past rulers used institutions for their personal interests and sent illegal money out of the country with help of these institutions.
