Gilani’s continued illegal house arrest condemned

Srinagar, December 28, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the forum patronised by the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, has strongly condemned his continued illegal house arrest and described it frustration of the puppet authorities.

The forum spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar deplored that the veteran leader was not being even allowed to offer Juma prayers. “It was 41st Friday in a row when Syed Ali Gilani was not allowed to offer Friday prayers,” he added.

The spokesman said that since 2010, Syed Ali Gilani continued to be virtually in jail. “He was released for a brief period but re-arrested without any justification or any written or judicial order. Police are keeping a continuous vigil at his residence, frisking the visitors and preventing him from all social, political and religious activities,” he added.
