Gilani demands safety for Zanaskar Muslims

Srinagar, June 02, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani has said that the puppet administration is not addressing the problems of Muslims in Padam Zanaskar in Kargil district and demanded adequate safety for them.

Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the puppet authorities had failed to provide relief or create a sense of security among the Muslims of the area. He said, “Since 1947, the Muslims in parts of Jammu and Ladakh have suffered at the hands of the communal forces. The Buddhists last year raided the houses of Muslims and ransacked their properties in Padam Zanaskar. They have unleashed a reign of terror on them.”

The veteran leader said that the puppet administration had given a free hand to the miscreants involved in loot, arson and ransacking of the properties of Muslim community in Padam Zanaskar. He warned of dire consequences if the authorities failed to take note of the situation.

Meanwhile, the Syed Ali Gilani has paid glowing tributes to Sajjad Ahmad Mir of Litter, Pulwama, who was recently martyred by Indian troops. “We are indebted to these martyrs,” he said in his telephonic address to the funeral procession of Sajjad Ahmad.

The veteran leader said the respect exhibited by people towards the martyrs should serve as an eye-opener for the occupation authorities and conveyed the message that the Kashmiri people would not give up their demand for right to self-determination.
