Gas and Petroleum Oil Products prices hiked – Alfalah Securities Limited

Karachi, July 16, 2012 (PPI-OT): Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) has raised the prices of petroleum products and CNG with effect from Monday, July 16, 2012.

According to Alfalah Securities Limited, Ogra notifies local POL and CNG prices on fortnightly basis based on the international petroleum products and Pak Rupee parity against US Dollar. The price of petrol has been increased by PKR 1.41 per litre, HOBC by PKR 5.64, kerosene by PKR 1.94 per litre and light diesel oil by PKR 1.62 per litre while price of diesel has been kept unchanged. The new price of petrol will be PKR 85.90, HOBC at PKR 112.52, kerosene at PKR 88.19 and light diesel oil at PKR 85.33 per litre. The price of compressed natural gas (CNG) has been hiked by PKR 1.29 per kg in both regions, where the price of CNG in region-I (KPK, Potohar and Baluchistan) will be PKR 78.65 per kg and in region-II (Punjab and Sindh) price of CNG will be PKR 71.92 per kg. The increase in petroleum product prices would nullify the positive impact that would have been witnessed due to a drop in the prices in previous fortnightly notification.
