Funeral prayers in absentia for Shabbir’s mother offered

Islamabad, December 27, 2014 (PPI-OT): In Islamabad, the funeral prayers in absentia were offered for the mother of senior leader of Hurriyet Conference Jammu and Kashmir, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, today. A large number of people belonging to different walks of life including leaders of political parties of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Hurriyet organizations and members of Kashmiri community from the twin cities attended the funeral prayers.

Prominent among those who attended the funeral prayers included AJK Minister for Tourism, Abdul Salam Butt, PML-N AJK General Secretary, Shah Ghulam Qadir, Hurriyet leaders, Mehmood Ahmed Saghar, Ghulam Muhammad Safi, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Tufail Altaf Butt, Altaf Hussain Wani, Nisar Mirza, Manzoorul Haq Butt, Mir Tahir Masood, Mohammad Rafiq Dar, Abdul Hameed Lone, Syed Abdullah Gilani, Abdul Majeed Malik, Abdul Majeed Mir, Sheikh Muhammad Yaqoob, Hassan Al-Banaa, Advocate Pervaiz Ahmed Shah, Abdul Mateen and Khadim Hussain as well as Kashmiri intellectual, Sheikh Tajammul-ul-Islam and the Chairman of United Jehad Council, Syed Salahuddin.

The funeral was led by Jamaat-e-Islami leader, Maulana Ghulam Nabi Nowshehri. He prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and give courage to the bereaved family to bear this loss with patience. It is to mention here that Shabbir Ahmed Shah’s mother passed away in a hospital in Srinagar, yesterday.
