Former Punjab CM Accuses BJP of Orchestrating Poonch Attack for Electoral Gain

New Delhi, Former Chief Minister of Indian Punjab, Charanjit Singh Channi, has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of staging a recent attack on an Indian Air Force convoy in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district as a pre-election tactic. The Congress leader suggested that the incident was designed to sway public sentiment ahead of upcoming elections.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Channi strongly criticized the attack, denouncing it as a politically motivated stunt by the BJP to secure electoral advantages. “These are all stunts and not terrorist attacks. These are nothing but BJP’s pre-poll stunt. There is no truth in it. BJP is playing with people’s lives and bodies,â€ Channi stated, charging the ruling party with risking human lives for political leverage.

The former CM highlighted a recurring pattern of such incidents coinciding with electoral timelines, implying that similar tactics were employed during the last general elections. Channi’s allegations point to a broader critique of the BJP’s integrity and its approach to national security issues.
