Foreign Services Academy delegation visits Islamabad Stock Exchange

Islamabad, June 06, 2012 (PPI-OT): A delegation from foreign services academy visited the Islamabad Stock Exchange (ISE) today. The delegation consisted of Mid- Career level diplomats from 29 friendly countries lead by Mr. Khalid Usman Qaiser, Director General of Foreign Services Academy.

The delegation was warmly received by the Management and Directors of the Exchange including Mr. Farrukh Younas, Brg (R) Fateeh Malik, Muhammad Sehwani, Ch. Masood, Mian Humaion and Qaiser Mushtaq.

The delegates were briefed at length by Dr. Iftikhar about the functioning of stock markets and salient features of the ISE Towers being financial hub of the capital. A comprehensive presentation on role and structure of the stock exchange, companies listing procedures, IPO process, trading through brokerage houses, role of SECP, CDC and NCCPL and risk management was given to the delegation.

The participants were also apprised about the recently promulgated Stock Exchanges (Corporatization, Demutualization and Integration) Act 2012 and its impact on the exchanges. Mr. Khalid Usman appreciated the contributions of the Exchange towards economy, investor’s education and over all uplift of the capital market.

In the Concluding remarks by the Senior Director Brig. (R) Fateh Malik he thanks the delegation for visiting the exchange and explained how the foreign investors can invest their money in our Markets. He also highlights the rate of return on the investment in past decade. He also added that the demutualization, Corporatization and integration of Stock Exchanges will have a positive impact over the performance of the market.
