Food Security Minister lauds AI role in reshaping landscape of agriculture

Caretaker Minister for National Food Security Dr. Kausar Abdullah Malik has sought cooperation from Higher Education Commision in use of artificial Intelligence in agriculture sector.

Talking to HEC Chairman Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed in Islamabad , he said Artificial Intelligence is playing a crucial role in reshaping the landscape of agriculture and revolutionizing farming practices for a more efficient and sustainable future.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed proposed to start joint project with agriculture universities, research organizations and SUPARCO for food security by utilizing artificial intelligence and super computers.

It was decided that the Ministry of National Food Security and Research would hold a joint conference with Higher Education Commission to devise plan and strategies for utilizing modern technologies in agriculture sector.

Later, talking to the President Kisaan Itehad Khalid Mehmood Khokar, he assured to take every possible step for the prosperity of farmers.

The Minister was apprised about the concerns of farming society due to the un-availability of urea and its sale in high prices in black market.

Khalid Khokar also proposed to provide concession to farmers in paying their debts of electricity in installments within the period of four years.
