First Pakistan Technical University being launched: Riaz Pirzada Skill development Is Need of hour: Sardar Shahjehan

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Professional and Technical Training Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada briefed the media after inaugurating the Official Website of the Ministry of Professional and Technical Training that summary for first Pakistan Technical University has been approved that is the biggest achievement of us to launch Professional and Vocational Education University.

Federal Minister told that even in neighbouring country India, since their independence they did not make Technical University until last year and after creation of Ministry of Professional and Technical Training in Pakistan first time, we have been successful to accomplish this dream. Federal Minister told the media that academic education means nothing if it could not produce jobs and ultimately youth are led to frustration but now we are on the way to train 30 million youth technically and professionally.

He added that strategy has been formulated according to which training courses; scholarships will be offered, indigenous as well abroad to youth to make them able to harness their talent for job cultivation. He told that it is bi pronged strategy in which Pakistani youth will send a broad for training and foreign highly qualified Pakistanis as well foreigner trainers will be called here to train the youth in the country.

And on commercial and trade side we are calling Turkish, Russian, African and Arab Countries experts for mining, gems cutting, exploration of minerals, leather tanning etc. For this purpose memorandums of understanding have been signed with Russia, China, India, Gulf and African countries besides European Union.

During training courses youth will be given reasonable stipends and after training completion they will be given permanent jobs. For rural areas development of Pakistan ministry has done agreements with Afro-Asian rural Development organization and in this regards Pakistan has been chosen by AARDO to open their head office into Islamabad after first office into New Delhi.

Federal Secretary Qamar zaman Chaudhary told the media in briefing that when we were given this Ministry it had not a chair to sit and we were literally limping but with untiring endeavours within few months this Ministry has got tremendous achievements and I will be rightful to say that those Ministries that were created beside this one have not yet known their names by people but we are delivering at the doors of the masses.

Minister of State for Professional and Technical Training, Sardar Shahjehan Yousaf added at this occasion that skill development is the need of the hour and we will turn the youth of Pakistan into Professional experts and this Ministry is the only window of glimmer for the frustrated jobless youth of Pakistan to stand them all on their feet and give them opportunities to lead the nation as progressive, prosperous and dynamic one.
