Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, expressing concern over the malpractices in payments to flood affectees, has directed to ensure availability of cash at all distribution points.
Chairing a review meeting regarding payments of cash assistance to flood affected people in Islamabad, he also directed for resolution of cyber related issues and strengthening cash distribution system to ensure timely payment of cash to the flood victims.
The Finance Minister asked the State Bank and Habib Bank to redress the grievances of flood affectees and take every possible step for smooth distribution of cash relief to them.
Secretary Benazir Income Support Programme briefed the meeting that almost ninety per cent of beneficiaries have been paid cash assistance while the remaining will receive the payment within next five days.
