Execution of Guru result of India’s anti-Kashmir policy: Nayeem

Srinagar, June 03, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference leader, Nayeem Ahmed Khan, has said that hanging of Muhammad Afzal Guru was the result of India’s anti-Kashmir policy that is why he was not provided a fair trial in the court.

Nayeem Ahmed Khan visited the family members of Afzal Guru at Doabgah in Sopore and expressed solidarity with them. “India’s anti-Kashmir mindset was revealed when the Indian Supreme Court cited the reason for hanging Afzal by calling it a decision to satisfy the collective conscience of Indian people,” he stated.

The APHC leader while interacting with Afzal’s close relatives said that their family had given not only a great martyr but they had made their place in the history of Kashmir forever. He told Afzal’s son that even it is a fact that he has lost the love of his father but he must live according to his father’s wishes and expectations.

Nayeem Khan also visited Baramulla town to meet the family of a scholar, Tahir Sofi, who was killed on March 5, this year, when Indian troops had fired upon demonstrators who were protesting against the execution of Afzal Guru.

“Though Tahir achieved a high place in the heaven but his martyrdom has left Kashmir without a future intellectual,” he maintained. He pointed out that Tahir always remained in the eyes of anti-movement elements because of his pro-freedom ideology, so it was enough to apprehend that Tahir’s martyrdom was the result of target killing.

The APHC leader later visited Palhalan to pay tributes to martyrs, Hilal Ahmad Rather and Shabir Ahmad Sheikh. He went to the houses of both the martyrs to express solidarity with their families.

He said that the people of Palhalan were facing intolerable trouble at the hands of the men in uniform adding that targeting of the freedom-loving people of Palhalan was a part of that policy which was meant to crush the ongoing resistance movement.

“But the movement which is nourished by the precious blood of our martyrs can’t be crushed by the oppressive and suppressive measures of India and its local collaborators,” he added.

Pertinently, Nayeem Ahmed Khan was illegally arrested in February this year and was released recently.
