Exchange Rates Experience Minor Fluctuations in Pakistan’s Currency Market

Karachi, The latest exchange rate data provided by the Exchange Companies Association of Pakistan shows slight fluctuations across major currencies in the local market over the past two days.

According to Exchange Companies Association of Pakistan, the U.S. dollar saw a marginal increase from PKR 277.07 to PKR 277.20 for buying and from PKR 279.57 to PKR 279.66 for selling between April 17 and April 18, 2024. The Euro and the British Pound also experienced slight gains in their buying and selling rates. Specifically, the Euro moved from PKR 292.42 to PKR 293.56 for buying and from PKR 295.15 to PKR 296.25 for selling. Meanwhile, the British Pound rose from PKR 342.41 to PKR 343.24 for buying and from PKR 345.77 to PKR 346.49 for selling.

Other currencies such as the Japanese Yen and the United Arab Emirates Dirham remained stable, with the Yen holding at PKR 1.76 for buying and PKR 1.80 for selling. The Dirham showed a slight decrease in the buying rate from PKR 75.13 to PKR 75.10, while the selling rate saw a minor drop from PKR 75.84 to PKR 75.80.

The Saudi Riyal slightly increased from PKR 73.18 to PKR 73.23 for buying and from PKR 73.87 to PKR 73.91 for selling. The interbank rate for the U.S. dollar also saw a small rise from PKR 278.40 to PKR 278.44 for buying and from PKR 278.60 to PKR 278.64 for selling.

These changes reflect minor adjustments in the currency market, suggesting a relatively stable economic environment without significant volatility.
