Efforts of Chairman Capital Development Authority to improve city lauded

Islamabad, October 23, 2016 (PPI-OT): Islamabad Chamber of Small Traders on Sunday lauded the decision of the government to appoint Mayor of Islamabad Sheikh Ansar Aziz as Chairman CDA terming it a positive step. Aziz is transforming Islamabad into a green city which has is also trying to change the culture of the CDA which has failed to provide relief to the masses, said Patron Islamabad Chamber of Small Traders Shahid Rasheed Butt.

In a statement issued here today, he said that encroachments are being removed from various markets which is a pleasant change while many dysfunctional wings of the CDA are being revived. Several directorates of CDA including enforcement directorate, roads directorate, and environment wing are shifting the burden to take action against illegal direct accesses on main Kashmir Highway on each other and none of them is willing to take action on this illegality which must be noticed, he demanded.

Shahid Rasheed Butt said that Chairman CDA should also try to reduce pollution in the city which has taken toll on the health of the masses while the critical sectors like health and education should be given preference. He lauded Aziz for directing CDA to fully participate in the vaccination drive which is very heartening.

The business leaders asked his to ensure merit in the CDA, take steps against ghost employees, ensure supremacy of merit and control unnecessary trade unionism to enable Islamabad to attract investment. The plans to make Islamabad a great city will only realise when the private sector invest in various projects without any fear, he said.
