Dr. Ali Asghar completed his Post Doc Research Study from France

Islamabad, July 19, 2012 (PPI-OT): Dr Ali Asghar was funded by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan to pursue a Post- Doctoral Fellowship at the Laboratoire d’Ingénierie des Biomolécules (LIBio) de I’Ecole Nationale Superieure d’Agronomie et des Industries Alimentaires (ENSAIA), Université de Lorraine, Nancy, France under the mentoring of Dr. Claire Giani, Stephan Dosebery and Joel Scher who are well-known scientists in the field of Food Chemistry in France

Dr. Asghar worked on the research project related to the accelerated storage study of milk protein powders to assess the modifications during the storage by the use of different instruments e.g FTIR, Granulomorphometer, Scanning electron Microscopy (SEM), X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS), Colorimeter etc. One part of his research abstract was also accepted for the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) Chicago, IL, USA while he also submitted two research papers for publications in reputed journals. He also participated in various training sessions to use lab equipment and software.

Dr. Ali Asghar has proved himself to be a good researcher and has demonstrated his abilities to visualize and plan research activities and projects, He has demonstrated to work both independently and as a team member. He demonstrated as well impressive communication skills during his presentations

Dr. Asghar developed a strong linkage with the academia and researchers of France during his nine months stay in Nancy, France. He wishes to exploit the peer-networking for the future research and extension programmes between Pakistan and France. Therefore, the HEC-funded Post-Doctoral Fellowship was a great blessing for him to achieve research and professional goals. Due to such type training programs, mutual understanding and collaboration will definitely increase the standard of education in Pakistan.

Dr. Asghar said that “it is a great opportunity to step outside in order to gain valuable research experience abroad and enlightens the spirit to work for the development of Pakistan.” He further added that “It is impossible without the generous funding of HEC for scholars to get exposure and advanced techniques as majority cannot afford such trainings personally. Dr Asghar has joined his parent organization in Pakistan after the successful completion of 9- months of his fellowship tenure in France.
