Dozens of protesters injured in police actions in IOK

Srinagar, July 20 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, dozens of people were injured when Indian police resorted to brute force at different places against the demonstrators who were protesting against the attack on worshipers, desecration of Quran and killing of protesters in Gool area of Ramban.

People staged massive demonstrations in Srinagar, Gandarbal, Bandipora, Naidkhai, Baramulla, Tangmarg, Uri, Kupwara, Trehgam, Kralpora, Handwara, Langate, Bijbehara, Mattan, Achabal, Kulgam, Qazigund, Qaimoh, Pulwama, Tral, Shopian, Ramban, Gool, Jammu, Doda, Kishtwar, Banihal, Bhaderwah, Thatri, Rajouri, Poonch, Thanamandi, Surankote, Mendhar and Kargil areas against the Gool bloodbath. Raising anti-India and pro-liberation slogans, they demanded bringing the troops involved in the killing to justice.

At many places Indian police resorted to heavy baton charge and excessive teargas shelling to disperse the protestors. At least thirty-eight people were injured in the police actions.
