District Coordination Officer Karachi Inspects Dilapidated Buildings In Narainpura
Karachi: District Coordination Officer Karachi Mohammad Hussain Syed has said that a comprehensive program for shifting and relocation of families residing in dilapidated buildings of Narainpura was under consideration. In the first phase 63 families from Mangji Bhagwanji Building would be shifted preferably to nearest locations.
He expressed these views during a visit of the buildings in Narainpura which have been declared as dilapidated and dangerous by the building control authority.
He was accompanied by officers of Works and Services, Revenue and other departments of city government.
In a briefing on this occasion, the DCO was informed that the dilapidated buildings were presently inhabited 480 families out of which the dangerous Mangji Bhagwanji Building has 63 families.
The building control authority has declared these structures dangerous due to their dilapidated condition and the inhabitants of such buildings were already issued with the evacuation notice.
DCO Mohammad Hussain Syed paid a detailed visit of these buildings located in Narainpura. He directed Works and Services Department to take necessary measures for solution of this problem on permanent basis. He also met with the residents of buildings and assured them that the government would take immediate measures for their relocation.
