Directorate General Immigration and Passports launches online passport Tracking System

Islamabad, December 20, 2013 (PPI-OT): Directorate General of Immigration and Passports has launched an Online Passport Tracking System to facilitate the public in tracking their passports. . SMS service for tracking passports is already operational.

The newly launched service will allow the passport applicants specially Pakistanis living abroad to track their passport by simply creating a login after visiting web site dg@dgip.gov.pk and clicking “online passport tracking system”. The user will then provide 11 digit token to the system to retrieve information related to the status of the passport

The online system has been programmed to respond in different scenarios where an applicant would be informed about the exact status of the passport which include:

Information of box ID, shipment date and concerned passport office for passport collection.

“In Process”, for the passports yet to be printed.

If an applicant has entered an invalid token ID, a message “You have entered invalid Token ID” shall appear.

Director General, Sikander Sultan Raja stated that this is another step towards facilitating the public and the applicant can confirm the status of his/her passport through web. He appreciated the efforts of his team to provide relief to the common man.

The service is functional and the passport applicants could retrieve information on the status of their passport application as soon as they receive their tracking numbers.
