Dialogue is the only way forward for Indo-Pak relations: Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan
Islamabad: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan met with Norwegian Foreign Minister and discussed matters related to bilateral ties. Norwegian Foreign Minister appreciated the role of democratic government in protecting minorities’ rights in Pakistan and acknowledged the sacrifices rendered by Pakistan in the war against terrorism. Information Minister said that Pakistan and Norway shares the tradition of democracy and pluralism.
Regarding Pakistan India ongoing peace process Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan informed the Foreign Minister of Norway that Pakistan believes that dialogue is the only way forward as for as Pakistan India relations are concerned.
She said that the two countries have identified eight sectors and the concerned departments are working on it. Information Minister said that we have to focus on Kashmir issue and that has to be resolved in accordance with the aspirations of Kashmiri people.
Norwegian Foreign Minister appreciated the resumption of dialogue process between Pakistan and India and said that extremist forces should not be allowed to disrupt ongoing peace process. Foreign Minister of Norway said that Norway is also helping Pakistan in building tax system.
