Delhi can’t muzzle Kashmir freedom struggle

Srinagar, July 20 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC) leader, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, has said that India cannot suppress the ongoing freedom struggle by using its military might. Mukhtar Ahmad Waza in a statement issued in Srinagar paid glowing tributes to those killed by Indian troops in Gool area of Ramban during a peaceful demonstration against the desecration of holy Quran. He said that the history of Kashmir was full of such massacres. He reiterated the Kashmiris’ resolve to take the ongoing liberation moment to its logical conclusion.

The Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami of occupied Kashmir, Muhammad Abdullah Wani, in his statement strongly denounced the killing of innocent people who were peacefully demonstrating against the desecration of Holy Quran in Gool.

He said that the recent incident had proved that the Indian forces in the occupied territory considered themselves above the law. He said that the draconian law, Armed Forces Special Powers Act, was main reason for the killing innocent people in the territory.

On the other hand, the Kashmir University Students Union in a statement condemned the desecration of Quran and subsequent massacre of Kashmiris in Gool by Indian troops.

It said that the Ramban incident was an edition to countless massacres that India had carried out across occupied Kashmir since 1947. It expressed heartfelt condolences with the families of those martyred and injured by the inhumane actions of the troops in Ramban.
