Delhi can’t keep Kashmir by force always: NC leader

Srinagar, July 12, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, pro-India National Conference leader, Dr Mustafa Kamal has said that India cannot keep Kashmir by force always.

Dr Kamal in a media interview in Srinagar said that the reason behind the resurgence of militancy in Kashmir was the Delhi’s stubborn approach. “One lac people in Kashmir have died for dignity,” he added.

“Till how long they (Delhi) can keep Jammu and Kashmir with India through army,” he questioned.

Terming Congress and BJP the two sides of same coin, Dr Kamal said, “If BJP says they will erode special status of Jammu and Kashmir, Congress is trying to do the same.”

He was reacting to the assertions of Congress Spokesperson Renuka Chowdhary who dismissed suggestions that the Congress was making any compromise with national interests due to coalition compulsions in Kashmir.

However, Kamal castigates Chowdhary saying “situation in Kashmir can take any shape if the dispute remains unresolved.”
