Crime Investigation Agency police foils bid to smuggle wine; recovers 310 wine bottles

Islamabad: Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of Islamabad police on Friday foiled a bid to smuggle wine bottles and arrested two persons for having 310 wine bottles from Tarnol area, a police spokesman said.

On a tip off, SP (Investigation) Ch. Liaqat Ali constituted special team to arrest bootleggers trying to smuggle wine bottles from Taxila to Islamabad.

This police team including In-Charge CIA Bashir Ahmed Noon and Sub-Inspector Muhammad Tehseen started high vigilance and patrolling after this information and succeeded to intercept a Suzuki Mehran vehicle (ICT-492) near Tarnol.

On search of this car, this police team recovered 310 wine bottles and arrested two occupants of car identified as Liaqat Masih s/o Inayat Masih resident of Lahore, Atta Ullah s/o Nemat Ullah Masih resident of Bhara Kau.

IGP Islamabad Bani Amin Khan SSP Muhammad Yousuf Malik has appreciated this performance and announced cash prizes and commendation certificates for the police team.
