Congress Leader Vikar Wani Criticizes BJP’s Decade-Long Impact in Jammu and Kashmir

Jammu, Vikar Rasool Wani, the President of the Indian National Congress's Jammu and Kashmir chapter, has voiced strong criticism against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), asserting that its decade-long governance has adversely affected every societal sector in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, during a party meeting in Banihal, Wani expressed concern over the widespread negative impacts of the Modi government's policies on the Kashmiri populace. He pointed out that the reconstitution of Jammu and Kashmir into a Union Territory has led to significant disenfranchisement, stripping locals of their rights to jobs and land.

Wani elaborated on various issues that have intensified under BJP's rule, including the imposition of property tax, the establishment of toll plazas, the rollout of smart meters, and a spike in unemployment, all contributing to the region's growing difficulties.

Furthermore, Wani criticized the administration of LG Manoj Sinha in Jammu and Kashmir, labeling it as ineffective in addressing the residents' grievances. He argued that under BJP's direction, the Jammu and Kashmir administration has only deepened the distress of its people, underscoring a pressing need for change in the territory's governance.
