Srinagar, July 19, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown was observed, today, to protest against the attack on worshipers, desecration of Quran and bloodbath by Indian troops at Gool in Ramban, yesterday.

The authorities have imposed stringent restrictions in all major towns of the occupied territory and deployed Indian troops and police personnel in strength to prevent people from staging demonstrations against the killings and offering funeral prayers in absentia of the martyred.

Call for the shutdown has been given by the All Parties Hurriyet Conference Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and other Hurriyet leaders including Syed Ali Gilani, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Shabbir Ahmed Shah and other Hurriyet organizations and leaders.

The puppet authorities continue to place Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Syed Ali Gilani, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi, Nayeem Ahmed Khan, Masroor Abbas, Mukhtar Ahmed Waza and Zafar Akbar Butt, under house arrest.

The JKLF Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Javed Ahmad Mir and other leaders were detained in Kothi Bagh police station in Srinagar while Shabbir Ahmed Shah at Saddar Police Station in Srinagar to prevent them from leading the demonstrations.

The authorities have also suspended mobile and internet services to stop people from getting information about the latest situation in the occupied territory.

On the other hand, despite restrictions, a large number of people participated in the funeral prayers of the martyred protesters in Ramban. They raised high-pitched anti-India and pro-liberation slogans on the occasion.
