CNS International Squash Tournament: Chief of Naval Staff awards prize money and winning trophy to Farhan mehboob winner of the Championship

Karachi, December 23, 2013 (PPI-OT): Pakistan Navy has a long association with squash, which dates back to independence. From a single court at Manora Island to Pakistan’s largest world class complex, named after two legends of squash, Roshan Khan and Jahangir Khan, was purely out of Pakistan Navy’s love for the Game.

The first CNS International Squash Tournament was conducted in 1999 with a prize money of US$6000/-.

The tournament prize over the years has also been increased significantly and now it is US$ 15000/-. It is worth asserting that this International event is of two and half (2 ½) star and accordingly carries world ranking points.

The Championship that started on 16th of December at Pakistan Navy Roshan Khan Jahangir Khan Squash Complex, Karachi concluded today in an impressive ceremony. Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Mohammad Asif Sandila was the chief guest at the occasion.

The chief guest awarded prize money and winning trophy to Farhan mehboob the winner of the Championship while runner up shield was presented to Nasir Iqbal. Tournament Director Commodore Saeed Ahmed in his speech expressed his gratitude to Chief of the Naval Staff, sponsors and Pakistan Squash Federation for their support and co-operation and congratulated the top players on their superb performance.

Squash legend Jahangir khan, top naval officials, officers from sister forces and civil dignitaries attended the ceremony.
