Chief Secretary asks to facilitate fishermen, boost export at Karachi Fish Harbour Authority and ensure European Union standard

Karachi, June 18, 2015 (PPI-OT): Chief Secretary Sindh Muhammad Siddique Memon has asked the Secretaries of Cooperative and Fisheries Departments to facilitate the Fishermen in achieving their lively-hood and to ensure their welfare. He also noted that export at Karachi Fish Harbour Authority be enhanced.

He expressed these views while presiding over a meeting regarding the affairs and issues of Fisheries and Cooperative Departments, with the specific reference of the Fishermen Cooperative Society. Both the Secretaries informed about the progress and issues of their schemes of KFHA. Chief Secretary also asked the status of development schemes and exports’ status including tax collection progress at the Karachi Fish Harbour.

He categorically noted that available resource of Karachi Fish Harbour must be utilized transparently. He also advised the standard of KFHA should be maintained in accordance with the international requirements including European Union. Secretary Cooperative Shahzar Shamoon and M.D. KFHA Ramzan Channa attended the meeting.
