Chief Secretary asks secretary health to evolve appropriate monitoring system for achieving targets in anti polio campaign

Karachi, June 08, 2015 (PPI-OT): Chief Secretary Sindh Muhammad Siddique Memon has emphasized upon coordinated efforts for safe and sufficient implementation on Polio Eradication Programme and asked Secretary Health to evolve appropriate monitoring system for achieving the target, thereof.

While talking to the Chairman, Technical Advisory Group of Polio Eradication Mr. Jean Marc and Provincial Oversight Coordinator Ms. Shahnaz Wazir Ali, this morning at Chief Secretary House at Karachi, the Chief Secretary noted that specific security arrangements are being taken for protection of the Polio Eradication Teams, throughout the province, as well Ulema-e-Kiram and Lady Religious Scholars have been taken into confidence about the Anti Polio Campaign.

They also exchanged views about over-all progress including release of funds, the expeditious steps were agreed to his effect. Secretary Health Saeed A. Mangnijo, Country Manager UNICEF Mr. Aiden Olcary, Sindh Police Programme Coordinator Dr. Usma Chachar, Sr. Advisor WHO Sindh Mr. Tom Greinn, UNICEF Team Leader for Polio Program for Sindh Ms. Huma Arif Khan and Mr. Altaf Bason were also present.

Chief Secretary lauded the services of Emergency Response Centre at Sukkur, which is in operation, with the assistance of UNICEF. He directed to make sure availability of all medical facilities including doctors and medicines in the hospitals runs under SESSI administration in the province. He also directed all staff and doctors to make possible of their availability in the hospital and warned that no lame negligence would be tolerated in this regard.
