Chief Minister Sindh orders arrest of culprits involved in cutting trees

Karachi, May 05, 2016 (PPI-OT):Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah expressing his strong displeasure and annoyance on the cutting of trees along Shahrah-e-Faisal has ordered an inquiry and directed the Commissioner Karachi to arrest the culprits. The chief minister said that where the responsible officers were last night when some unauthorized people came with required machinery and started chopping standing trees. “This is sheer negligence and connivance of concerned officers that this mishap has taken place, otherwise nobody could dare to go to such an extent,” he observed.

He directed commissioner Karachi Asif Hyder Shah to register a case against the culprits and get them arrested at the earliest and report him. “We are working hard to improve environment and making efforts to plant trees and give them ownership but some unscrupulous people are cutting trees,” he said and added this is very serious and must be taken seriously.
