Cattle market: Online purchase system to be introduced: Sindh Governor

Karachi, August 05, 2015 (PPI-OT): The online purchase system would be introduced at the cattle market to be set up at Superhighway in Karachi for the sacrificial animals in connection with Eid ul Azha. This was stated by the Governor of Sindh, Dr Ishrat Ul Ebad Khan, here on Tuesday.

He was presiding over a meeting in connection with reviewing arrangements for the cattle market. The Governor said that the cattle market at Superhighway here was the biggest in Asia and emerged as a role model in the world.

He stated that as the law and order situation in the metropolis has improved more as compared to previous years, more and more people are expected to visit the cattle market this time. The Governor informed that online purchase system would be introduced this year to facilitate the buyers. He also asked the administration to provide better facilities at this market.

The Governor directed that a veterinary hospital be established at the cattle market for providing free treatment. The meeting was informed that the cattle market would spread over 700 acres. There would be latest communication system with internet and wifi besides, there would be two dedicated hydrant to provide water round the clock as well as generators for provision of electricity.

Law Enforcement Agencies would provide security and police would patrol and entry and exit points. Large scale arrangement would be made for free parking. Bank branches near the cattle market would remain open round the clock. Various banks would be introducing prepaid cards.
