Karachi, December 16, 2013 (PPI-OT): In December 2013 the German Consulate General started a new Project to support the Sindh Police in capacity building, training and organizational development in combination with providing new equipment and infrastructure.

This German-Pakistan Capacity Development Support Programme to the Sindh Police is a multi-year project and is being implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit – German Society for International Cooperation – GIZ. As part of the Programme, German Consul General Dr. Tilo Klinner has invited a high ranking Delegation from Sindh Police to meet from 5th through 13th of December 2013 German Inspector Generals of Police and to visit training facilities with latest technologies, particularly in forensics and telecommunication in Germany.

The Sindh Police Delegation, with approval of the CM Sindh, met during their visit the Commissioners of Police of the three German States Bavaria, Berlin and Hamburg and exchanged their experiences and views. The Sindh Police Delegation also visited the Central German Police University and other facilities for Police education and training centres in action.

Talks with Professors, trainers and students allowed the Sindh Police Delegation to get first hand impressions. In a large scientific forensic Police lab of the State of Bavaria in Muenchen, where some three hundred scientists work for the Police, the Sindh Police Delegation studied the processes of forensic tests and investigations.

The Programme ended with a visit to the German Foreign Office in Berlin where the Delegation discussed the new Cooperation between the German Foreign Office and Sindh Police with high representatives. Both sides have expressed their satisfaction with the start and perspectives of the Project. Upon the return of the delegation, German Consul General Dr. Tilo Klinner will initiate a round table discussion to discuss further programme developments.
