Bilateral trade between Pakistan and Argentina will be further strengthened after signing of deal on cooperation: minister

Islamabad, March 27, 2014 (PPI-OT): Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research (MNFSR) Sikandar Hayat Khan Bosan said that bilateral trade relations between Pakistan and Argentina will be further strengthened after signing of an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) on Cooperation in the field of Sanitary and Phytosanitary issues between Ministry of National Food Security and Research (MNFSR) and Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Republic of Argentina.

The said MoU is presently under process and will be signed in near future. The Federal Minister said this while in a meeting with Rodolpho J. Martin Saravia, Ambassador of Argentina, when the latter called on the minister here in Islamabad.

During the course of meeting, the minister highlighted the longstanding ties between the two countries. The minister also appreciated Argentina’s efforts to enhance export of Agricultural products from Pakistan to Argentina.

Ambassador of Argentina said that both countries possess vast potential in the field of agricultural research and emphasized on exchanging agricultural research between the two countries in order to ensure future food security. The federal minister also welcomed cooperation and assistance of Argentina in establishing modern meat processing abattoirs in Pakistan.
