Arrest spree an exercise of minting money: Farooq Dar

Srinagar, July 25 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the chairman of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front- R, Farooq Ahmad Dar has lashed out at the Indian authorities for fresh arrest spree unleashed by the police and CRPF personnel after the Gool incident.

Farooq Ahmad Dar in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “Soon after the desecration incident and the subsequent killing of four people in BSF firing on the peaceful protesters, the police started arresting minors from the different parts of Kashmir.”

He said that police had now started a new exercise of minting money from people in exchange for the release of these youth.

“On the pretext of stone pelting the police and CRPF are arresting youth thereby creating panic and fear throughout the occupied territory,” he said. “The police and CRPF personnel are raiding houses, beating inmates and smashing the windowpanes. In Noorbagh. a boy belonging to a poor family was brutally beaten by CRPF and Police and he is currently battling for his life in a hospital,” he said.
