Arrest of Shabbir Shah, Naqash condemned

Srinagar, July 24 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party has strongly condemned the arrest of party Chairman, Shabbir Ahmad Shah and Muhammad Yousuf Naqash. The party described it frustration of the authorities.

Shabbir Ahmad Shah and Muhammad Yousuf Naqash were arrested along with other Hurriyet activists in Qazi Gund while on their way to Gool in Ramban to express solidarity with the victims of Indian state terrorism.

The party spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar deplored that he was arrested to prevent him from visiting the families of those youth killed by Indian troops during the peaceful demonstrations against the desecration of holy Quran.

The spokesman said that India could not weaken the courage of the people of Kashmir through such cheap tactics, adding that they would continue to raise voice for securing right to self-determination.
