Arrest of religious scholar denounced in IHK

Srinagar, June 09, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Ummat-i-Islami has denounced the arrest of its President and religious scholar, Qazi Yasir.

The Jammu and Kashmir Ummat-i-Islami in a meeting in Islamabad town condemned the action of Indian police and described the arrest of Qazi Yasir as personal revenge of some officials.

They said that Qazi Yasir was returning after addressing a religious programme on Friday and was detained on his way back home. They said that he was scheduled to lead a protest against the arrest of youth in connection with attack on Sher Bagh Police Station in the town.
