Army planning to grab 300 kanals land: Gilani

Srinagar, July 31 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani has expressed deep concern over the reports that Indian Army is conducting a survey for occupying 300 Kanals of Kahcharai land in Tangmarg Manglora, Lolapora, Hard Bani and Takiya Batpora.

Syed Ali Gilani in a statement in Srinagar said the puppet administration has betrayed the people by telling them that the land was being surveyed for the proposed Agriculture University.

“However the administration is now hesitating to come up with explanation and fails to say whether the land is being used for University or as a military camp,” he said.

According to his spokesman, a deputation comprising elders from the said villages apprised the veteran leader about the land issue and said they were cheated by the administration.

They said that Tehsildar and DC obtained their signatures on a blank paper saying that the proposed University would provide jobs to their wards.

“The administration remained silent for two years and now the army personnel have started the survey of the said Kahchari land and it is established that they plan to set up a permanent military camp on the Kahcharai land,” the spokesman added.
