Appreciation over gas supply resumption from Qadirpur – Alfalah Securities Limited

Karachi: The industrial sector has given appreciation over resumption of gas supply from the Qadirpur gas field on account of special steps taken by the government to reduce the maintenance period to 7 days.

According to Alfalah Securities Limited, Qadirpur gas field was announced to remain closed from August 28 to September 17 for a period of 20 days, which was completed within 7 days and resumed gas supply of 415 mmscfd to the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL). However, the resumption of gas supply would not be able to ensure urea production up to its full capacity owing to 15 days gas load shedding plan on the SNGP system. The shortage of urea in the country has caused a slump in the production of essential food items and is also expected to dampen the output of essential cash crops in the upcoming Rabi season.
