Anti Narcotics Task Force’s seizure of 3421 Kgs of drugs worth Rs 3439 million arrest 3 drug smugglers and seizes 1 vehicle

Islamabad, December 04, 2014 (PPI-OT): ANF during 4 operations carried out at Karachi and Peshawar, foiled attempts to smuggle narcotics abroad including 3408 Kgs of Charas, 12 Kgs of Opium and 1 07 Kgs of Heroin. During operation, ANF arrested 3 persons and seized a vehicle. The value of the recovered drugs amounts approximately to Rs 343 9 Million in International Market.

According to details, ANF Karachi on pursuance of an information, seized a Hino Truck No. C 2102 Mradan near Saeedabad Police Training College, Baldia Town, Hub River Road, Karachi and recovered 2008 Kgs of Charas and 12 Kgs of Opium concealed in it.

3 individuals were arrested at the spot, namely Abdul Muneer (Driver) , Abdullah (Helper) and Rehmat Ullah . All arrested persons belonged to Qilla Abdullah. Drugs were packed in polythene pack s and concealed in an improvised fuel tank made under the truck. As per initial investigations, drugs were being transported from Qill a Abdullah to Karachi, and were to be handed over to next gang for smuggling abroad.

ANF Karachi seized a parcel from Fedex Courier Office, Karachi containing kitchen items and recovered 670 grams of Heroin concealed in it. The parcel was intended for UK. As per initial reports, it was dispatched by Muhammad Asif r/o Karachi and was to be received by Ravina Core residing at Kirks Stalls, Leeds, UK.

ANF Karachi intercepted a parcel at TNT Courier Office, Karachi and recovered 400 G rams of Heroin from the parcel. Heroin was concealed in two boxes containing artificial jewelry. As per reports, the parcel was booked from Rawalpindi by a person namely Saqib Javed r/o Rawalpindi. It was destined for UK and was to be received by Paul Smith, B edford Shire, UK.

ANF Peshawar in an intelligence led operation, seized 1400 Kgs of Charas from a graveyard near Pishta Khara Chowk, Bara Road, Peshawar.

Charas was packed in 35 plastic bags, each containing 40 Kgs of Charas. Charas was concealed in the bushes in graveyard area.

As per initial information, the place was being used as cache site and drugs were to be transported to other cities, probably in Punjab. All c ases have been registered in ANF Police Stations and further investigations are under process.
