Anti Narcotics Task Force crackdowns on narcotics dens at Karachi, Hyderabad, Lahore, Multan and Peshawar

Rawalpindi, July 16, 2013 (PPI-OT): In continuation to the policy of Nationwide crackdown and zero tolerance on notorious Narcotics dens/ sites/ smugglers, ordered by Director General Anti Narcotics Force. Anti Narcotics Force carried out massive and successful operations at Karachi, Hyderabad, Lahore, Multan and Peshawar. Arrested 9 famous Drug Suppliers including 2 ladies, recovered street-supply drugs, dislodged 151 drug addicts and completely wiped out crime localities.

According to details, Anti Narcotics Force undertook a crackdown operation at Karachi City in localities of Essa Nagri, Bort Basin, Hyderabad city in localities of Khurshid Colony Kotri, vicinity of GOR, Lahore city in localities of Miani Sahib Graveyard, Shah Jamal, vicinity of Data Darbar, Ali Park, Chuburgi, vicinity of Air Port, at Multan city in vicinities of Shah Shamas, Chowk Metla and Peshawar city at Haji Camp Bus Stand. A total of 145 ANF personals participated in the operations.

These were well-planned operations. During operations, a total of 160 crime related persons were hauled-up. After initial interrogation, 9 famous Drug Suppliers including 2 ladies, surfaced who were arrested and will be dealt by law.

These arrests may lead to further information. Search of personnals/ locality resulted in recovery of 4.4 KGs of high quality Heroin, 142.2 KGs of Charas and 515 Purries. All stake holders have been informed to keep a watch, to deny re-occurrence of the crime. FIRs have been registered, further investigations are in progress.

It is pertinent to mention here, that, Director General ANF has instructed to curb this drug menace forcibly throughout the country. Although the endeavors of ANF are wholehearted and wide-ranging, the meager strength / resources remain to be a challenge. Recent ongoing operations speak of devotion of Anti Narcotics Force in war against drugs and to make Pakistan a Drug Free Society.
