Anti-India protests in Bandipora

Srinagar, July 01, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Indian authorities imposed strict curfew in Hajin, Sumbal, Naidkhai and other areas of Bandipora to suppress anti-India protest demonstrations against the killing of two civilian including a school boy by Indian troops on Sunday.
Tension prevailed in the town after Indian paramilitary forces and police personnel resorted to brute force and fired tear smoke shells on hundreds of protesters, who later retaliated with stones.

Police spokesman confirmed the imposition of curfew in the said areas.

On the other hand, hundreds of people who tried to march towards Markundal in Hajan after clashing with Indian policemen set on fire the Indian Army School. Another group of protesters torched the municipal building reportedly at Sumbal. Later, the authorities imposed curfew in the town to control anti-India protest.
