Anti-Encroachment Cell formed to retrieve Port Properties

Islamabad, November 30, 2013 (PPI-OT): On the direction of Federal Minister for Ports and Shipping, Senator Kamran Michael, an Anti-encroachment Cell has been formed to retrieve land property of ports from land grabbers. The Minister will himself lead and supervise the operation. The decision was taken today at a high level meeting chaired by the Federal Minister for Ports and Shipping.

The Minister emphatically said that no grabber would be allowed to occupy the lands and properties of ports. He reiterated that every inch of land would be retrieved as soon as possible and no resistance would be tolerated in this regard.

The anti-encroachment cell consists of senior officials of ports and the Minister would himself lead the operation. Senator Kamran Michael said that at first legal notices would be served to occupants and if they are found reluctant to vacate the property, an operation would be carried out without any discrimination.
