Ambassador of Korea calls on National Assembly Speaker

Islamabad, July 11, 2013 (PPI-OT): Mr. Ro Kyong Chol, Ambassador of Democratic People’s Republic of Korea called on Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq in Parliament House, this morning.

Talking to the Korean Ambassador, Speaker National Assembly said that Pakistan cherishes its historic brotherly relations with Democratic Republic of Korea and wants them to be taken up to new heights through parliamentary cooperation between the legislatures of both the countries.

The Speaker said that parliamentary diplomacy was an excellent way of bringing two nations more closer. He said that Pak-Korea friendship group in National Assembly of Pakistan will be activated soon.

Expressing his satisfaction over the economic cooperation between Pakistan and Korea, the Speaker said that Korean investors should take advantage of business opportunities in Pakistan and invest various sectors especially the energy and manufacturing sectors. He further suggested for exploring further avenues of cooperation in diverse areas.

Ambassador of DPR Korea Mr. Ro Kyong Chol thanked the Speaker for his remarks and congratulated him on his election as Speaker of the August House. He said that Koreans consider Pakistan their close and trusted friends.

He said that the incumbent Korean leadership was keen to further enhance ties with Pakistan. He said that Korea would extend all-out support to Pakistan in addressing the energy shortages. He agreed for frequent interaction between parliamentarians of both the countries.
