All Pakistan Textile Mills Association Dispatches Its First Tranche of Relief Goods to the Flood Affectees Today

Karachi: As announced earlier and assurance given to the President of Pakistan, Mr. Asif Ali Zardari by Mr. Gohar Ejaz, Central Chairman – APTMA during his meeting with him in Karachi that APTMA will distribute food and other essential items for a sum of Rupees 50 Million amongst 25,000 flood affected families of Sindh to share the sufferings of our affected brethren.

Mr. Tariq Saud, Chairman – APTMA Sindh Balochistan Region and Chairman, APTMA Flood Relief Committee said that APTMA Relief Committee is working ceaselessly with high spirit and it has planned to carryout relief work and distribute ration to the flood affectees personally and will try to reach out those areas where no relief has yet been provided.

Mr. Tariq Saud further said that APTMA Flood Relief Committee is fully engaged in the relief work since last two weeks and by the grace of Allah Almighty will be dispatching today first tranche of 6 trucks of relief goods to the flood affected areas of Badin and its surroundings containing 150 tents and about 1,650 hampers of Floor, Sugar, Tea, Milk Powder, Rice, Biscuits, Dal Channa, Cooking Oil, Salt, Match Box, Cooking Pan, Mosquito Quill, water purifying tablets, etc. One hamper would be sufficient for a family of 5 – 6 members for 13 – 15 days.

He said that another tranche of 10 trucks from Punjab and 8 trucks from Karachi containing the relief goods will be sent to the flood affected areas tomorrow.

Third and fourth tranche of 6 and 10 trucks with relief good including 500 tents will be dispatched from Karachi and Lahore respectively in the next week.

Mr. Tariq Saud said that APTMA will send altogether 90 trucks of relief goods in the flood affected areas of Sindh.
