1st Round of Pakistan-China Military Staff Talks held at Joint Staff Headquarters, Chaklala
Rawalpindi: The 1st Round of Pakistan-China Military Staff Talks was held between the delegations of both the Armed Forces at JSHQ Chaklala on 22 Jun 2011.
The Chinese delegation led by Major General Jia Xiaoning, Deputy Chief of Foreign Affairs Office, Ministry of National Defence, China held talks with the Pakistan delegation led by Lieutenant General Muhammad Asif, Director General Joint Staff. The meeting commenced with a call on by the Chinese delegation on General Khalid Shameem Wayne, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee.
Both sides discussed ways and means of further enhancing and deepening the existing multifaceted cooperation in the field of training, mutual exchanges, counter terrorism exercises and collaboration in defence production. At the end of these staff talks two agreements were signed to further consolidate existing cooperation between the Armed Forces Pakistan and China.
