18th Chief of the Naval Staff Open Golf Championship ends

Karachi, June 30, 2013 (PPI-OT): CNS Open golf championship is the most significant Golf event in Pakistan Golf Federation calendar of events with highest prize money of 5.1 million this time. The tournament was played from 27th-30th June 2013 at Karachi Golf Club. The Championship was open to various categories including 18 holes match for juniors, ladies and seniors, 9 holes match for veterans and 72 holes for professionals and amateurs.

18th Chief of the Naval Staff Open Golf Championship ended up today in an impressive ceremony at picturesque Karachi Golf club. Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Mohammad Asif Sandila was the chief guest on the occasion.

While addressing the ceremony Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Asif Sandila said that Pakistan Navy has significantly contributed to promote golf in Pakistan. Karachi Golf Club with its Golf Academy has proved to be an effective forum in triggering an ever increasing interest in general public for Golf. With efforts of KGC this once considered an elite class game has now become popular among masses as well, he added.

At the end the chief guest distributed prizes among winners of all categories. The main trophy was awarded to¬¬ Waheed Baloch. Whereas Lt Commander Saeed Khattak of Pakistan Navy grabbed Toyota Altis car for his lucrative hole in one feat. The chief guest congratulated winners and all participants for their splendid performance during the championship.
