123 martyrs’ killers roaming free, deplores Ghulam Ahmad Mir

Srinagar, June 13, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, APHC leader and Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Movement, Ghulam Ahmed Mir has deplored that the men in uniform who are responsible for killing at least 123 martyrs during by 2010 uprising are Scot-free due to immunity enjoying under draconian laws.

The JKPM chairman in a meeting at Thanamandi in Rajouri said that Tufail Mattoo, Wamiq Farooq, Zahid Farooq and families including the three of Mendhar were still awaiting justice despite lapse of years.

“No one including men, women and children are safe in the territory,” Ghulam Ahmed Mir said. He called for demilitarization to give peace a chance in the South Asian region.

Mir reiterated to take the mission of martyrs to its logical end despite killings, arrests and restrictions by Indian police and army.

He appealed to the international human right organizations to approach India to stop rights abuse in Kashmir and put ban on lethal weapons against peaceful demonstrators.

Meanwhile, another party leader, Umer Arshad Inqalabi in a statement also paid glowing tributes to the martyrs.
