OIC chief offers condolences to Saudi leadership over martyrdom of army officers

Jeddah (IINA) � Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Dr. Yousef Al-Othaimeen sent a cable of condolences to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman over the martyrdom of 12 Saudi military personnel in the crash of a Saudi Armed Forces helicopter in Yemen on Tuesday.

Dr. Al-Othaimeen said the soldiers were killed while fulfilling their patriotic duty in defending Yemen, its people and their legitimate authority, and to counter attempts threatening the Yemeni and regional security as well as the international peace and security.

He also sent cables of condolence to Crown Prince Muhammad bin Naif, deputy premier and minister of interior; and Deputy Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman, second deputy premier and minister of defense.

In his message, the secretary general conveyed his sincere condolences over this tragic incident, asking Allah, the Almighty, to grant mercy and forgiveness to the martyrs, rest their souls in paradise and inspire their families with patience and fortitude, and to protect Saudi Arabia from every evil.
