Car bombing kills 3 policemen in Iraq’s Fallujah

Anbar, Iraq (IINA) Three policemen were killed Monday in a suicide bombing in Iraq's western city of Fallujah, according to a local military officer.

A bomber blew up his car at a checkpoint in the city's western entrance, Army Colonel Walid al-Dulaimi told Anadolu Agency.

He said seven troops, including four police personnel and three army soldiers, were injured in the attack.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the bombing.

Iraqi forces recaptured Fallujah from terrorist group Daesh (also known as ISIS/ISIL) in mid-2016. Iraq has suffered a devastating security vacuum since mid-2014, when Daesh overran the northern city of Mosul now the target of a wide-ranging army offensive and vast swathes of territory in the country's north and west.
